First and foremost, welcome to the Illum Vex RP!
The Illum Vex RP is a roleplay that takes place between IMVU (a chat client) in real time, and on this forum board. This RP contains mature content, and is not for the faint of heart. Some themes of this roleplay can come off as violent, sexual, controversial, vulgar, and unsuitable for children. So understand that joining this board means being exposed to a lot of these themes in writing. Combat can and will take place throughout the roleplay, and when it does the text combat style we use is called Tier 1, or T1 for short. You can ask to learn more about this from one of the creators or moderator if you are interested in learning. We also have a strict rule about drama, because this is a RP to be conducted without any nonsense or childish behaviors. So if you feel like you cannot work to make this amazing story with others maturely, this isn't the place for you.
Illum Vex refers to a solar system in the multiverse**. Multiple planets circle back and forth around a dual-star system center, each containing unique and powerful life. The story in Illum Vex is the back and forth between factions, discovering the origins of Illum Vex and the lore long since forgotten, and of unique and diverse characters coming together for what causes they feel are just and deserving.
**Multiverse = The concept that all universes, realities, and dimensions are all interlinked and accessible through particular (and somewhat plausible) means. It allows characters from varying degrees of technological exposure, science and religious understanding, and of many different races, to come together.
